The goal of this project is to fund 3 independent zine makers, first time zine makers, and new zine ideas, for evergreen content zines that can be printed on a standard office printing size (Letter, Legal, Tabloid).
Written work and zines – original written work must be submitted as a text/word document, proofread, and contain substantial educational content.
Promote social justice – a clearly stated, specific, social issue chosen by the artist that motivates the creation of this work. Ex. Systemic Racism, Reproductive Rights, Antisemitism, Islamophobia, Queer Phobia, Radicalization Online, Public Health Crisis’.
Racial equity – the understanding and acknowledgment in your work that racism is real, and in the United States, no one is immune to racist programming, bias, and white-supremacy. In order to achieve racial equity, targeted and enhanced support must be given to the most vulnerable members of our society so that they can achieve more in spite of systemic obstacles.
Diverse audience – in order to support access to these zines we will be prioritizing work that is multilingual and is accessible to more people with different needs.
